Privacy Policy

The tools run in your browser, so what you paste into them never reaches our server. Here's exactly what we do and don't collect.

This privacy policy explains what information ToolsInstant (toolsinstant.com) collects, how it’s used, and the choices you have. ToolsInstant is operated by Devansh Thakkar, an individual based in Surat, Gujarat, India (“we”, “us”).

Summary

  • The tools run in your browser. What you type or paste into a tool is not sent to our server.
  • There are no accounts, and we don’t sell personal information.
  • We don’t currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.
  • Like every website, our server records basic technical data, such as IP addresses, in access logs.

Data you enter into the tools

Every tool on ToolsInstant runs as JavaScript in your browser. Text, HTML, JSON-LD, robots.txt files, URL lists, and CSV files you enter are processed on your device. They are not transmitted to our server and are not stored by us. Unless a tool clearly says otherwise, it doesn’t save your input in your browser either, so the data is gone when you close or reload the page.

Site search

The search box in the header sends the words you type to our server to find matching tools. Search terms are used only to return results. We don’t store them in a database, although they can appear in standard server logs, described below.

Tool ratings

Each tool page lets you rate the tool from 1 to 5 stars. We store only the total number of ratings and their sum for each tool. To allow one rating per visitor, we keep a one-way hash of your IP address for 90 days, and your browser remembers your own rating locally so it can show it back to you. Ratings are anonymous and can’t be linked to your name or email.

Server logs

When you visit any page, our web server and hosting provider automatically record technical information: your IP address, browser and operating system (user agent), the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time. This is used to run, secure, and troubleshoot the website, for example to block abusive traffic. Logs are kept for a limited period and are not used to build profiles of visitors.

Cookies

ToolsInstant doesn’t set cookies for visitors who aren’t logged in, and we don’t use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. If our hosting or security provider sets a strictly necessary cookie, for example to filter bot traffic, it’s used only for that purpose.

If we add analytics or advertising in the future, we’ll update this privacy policy before doing so and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Third-party services

  • Fonts: the site’s typeface is hosted on our own server, so loading a page doesn’t send your IP address to a font provider.
  • Hosting: our hosting provider processes server logs on our behalf, as described above.
  • External links: pages link to other websites, such as schema.org and Google’s documentation. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
  • Affiliate links: if you follow an affiliate link, the destination site may use cookies to record the referral under its own privacy policy.

If you contact us

When you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, chosen topic, any URL you add, and your message. The form sends them by email to our inbox, and a copy is kept in the website’s admin area, visible only to us, so no message is lost if an email fails. To prevent abuse, the form briefly records a one-way hash of your IP address to limit how many messages can be sent per hour; that record expires after one hour.

If you email us directly, we receive your email address, your message, and any attachments. In both cases, we use your details only to reply and to fix the issues you report. We don’t add you to mailing lists or share your details. Messages are kept as long as needed to handle your request, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.

Legal basis for processing under this privacy policy

For visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, we process server logs and contact messages on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and securing the website and responding to messages. Where the law requires consent, we’ll ask for it first.

Sharing and international transfers

We don’t sell, rent, or trade personal information. Data is shared only with service providers who help run the website, such as our hosting provider, or when disclosure is required by law. ToolsInstant is operated from India and uses third-party providers, so data may be processed in countries other than your own.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR, India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you rights over your personal data. These can include the right to access, correct, or delete it, and to object to its use. To make a request, email contact@toolsinstant.com. We’ll respond within 30 days.

Children

ToolsInstant is intended for professionals and isn’t directed at children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

The website is served over HTTPS, and because the tools process your input in your browser, most of what you work with never reaches us at all. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the limited data we handle.

Changes to this privacy policy

We’ll update this privacy policy when our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised.
